Nowhere else in the US does shocking, endemic, generational poverty exist in the midst of such raw beauty as in the Arizona/New Mexico borderlands. The vistas are spectacular from the desiccated towns and reservations of the mostly Hispanic and Native American population. If you stand in one place long enough, you can almost watch another ghost town dissolve into the desert. Images taken within approximately 100 miles of the Mexican border.
