Death Valley needs no introduction. It is magical, magisterial and brutal. It has the highest ground temperature ever recorded on Earth - 201˚F. These images are of several trips over many years, the last of which was March 2024, when recent torrential rains created a lake centered in Badwater which resulted in once-in-a-generation water reflections in the Park.
I've also included images from park-adjacent towns like Lone Pine, Olancha and the fascinating tiny ex-mining town, almost ghost town and current striving-to-be art colony of remote Darwin (pop 43).
